Wellness Coaches are students trained on a wide variety of helping skills that will prepare them to coach students struggling with some of the top impediments to mental health and well-being on campus.

Wellness Coaching Tips

Schedule a Wellness Coaching session for the following topics:â 

  • Based on your individual needs, Wellness Coaches will help you create a plan for emotional well-being, which may include stress and time management, ways to increase motivation, decrease isolation, build social support, and learn organizational skills.

  • Understand the basics of building healthy meals and snacks and developing strategies for healthy eating while on the go and on a budget. 

  • Being physically active can help improve your mood, energy level, and overall health. Not only will you learn the benefits of physical activity, you will also learn about cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength/endurance, flexibility, and how to incorporate these components into your existing schedule for a lifetime of physical activity.

  • Wellness Coaches can help you make a plan for nicotine cessation from smoking, vaping, or spit tobacco. They will help you prepare to cope with stress, urges to use nicotine, and other issues you may face when trying to quit.

While their guidance will provide support and education, it is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. Therefore, Wellness Coaches will refer you to on-campus resources for assistance on matters beyond their training.     Why did you become a Wellness Coach?

    I became a Wellness Coach because I am very passionate about promoting wellness and self-care amongst people. Connecting with students through Wellness Coaching allows me to help people towards achieving their goals while enjoying their journey along the way.

    How do you practice positive self-care?

    I practice positive self-care by journaling and meditation. Putting energy towards having a positive mindset really makes a difference.

    What is one well-being tip you would like to share with other students?

    One well-being tip I would like to share is to put time and energy into getting to know yourself. We are constantly evolving as people, and being aware of your intentions, limits, and goals can make certain aspects of life less stressful.
