Generate Well-Informed SoTL Research Designs

Plenary Workshop: Thursday, October 7, 2021, 3:15 - 4:30 pm EST

Hopscotch, a theoretical model and webtool, will be presented in this workshop as a resource to generate well-informed SoTL research designs. In addition to becoming acquainted with the nine steps proposed by Hopscotch’s framework in the development of thorough qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods designs, participants will use the webtool to generate a visual representation of the key elements of a SoTL study they are interested in.

obtained his Ph.D. in Educational Technology within the Intelligent & Cooperative Systems Research Group at the University of Valladolid (Spain). His research was devoted to the study of Computer-supported Collaborative Learning environments. In 2009, after a Fulbright fellowship at the University of Illinois, he founded the Transdisciplinary Research Center in Education (CETIE) also at the University of Valladolid. In 2014 he begun working for ²ÝÁñÊÓÆµ State University where he has developed the , a theoretical model and a webtool to support the generation of research designs, and more recently the .
